Trick-or-Treat Aggieville

I braved the crowd/parking and took the boys (including Graham) and a friend trick-or-treating in Aggieville Friday evening.  What a beautiful day--so nice not having to wear coats over or under costumes.  Speaking of costumes.... Miles dressed as a Ninja (costume passed down from Mason Henry).  Owen was a football player, but managed to lose his pants, shoes and helmet during the day.  Cole (friend) was also a football player--pads only.  Dayne (another friend of the boys) actually has a nice, complete costume. Owen has inherited Adam's ambivalence towards Halloween and doesn't plan to dress up and go out on Halloween night.  As for Graham, he went as himself :)  Definitely no "Halloween Mom of the Year" here!

Definitely the best costume in all of Aggieville--perhaps the best I've ever seen.  The Walker's MADE this life size K-State Lego Man, and it was a hit with everyone!  I'm kind of embarrassed to put my kids' Halloween pictures on the same post as this.

16 Months

Graham is starting to become more "little boy" and less "baby."  He's at K-State for daycare now and really loving that.  He can say his teacher's name and went on his first field trip (pumpkin patch) this week.  He weighs about 24 pounds and has way more hair that Owen and Miles did at his age--he may even need a little trim over the ears soon.  At 16 months he:  runs, climbs, throws, draws on the computer with crayons, poops in the bathtub, chugs cup after cup of milk, eats two breakfast bars every morning, chews on toothbrushes, puts his shoes away, LOVES his stinky blankie and his jacket, drives his "car" (scooter), empties my bathroom basket every morning and can say:  Mom, Dad, ball, Ali (teacher), mine, bye, up, and cracker.  For everything else he just grunts, points or yells.

Family

We made another run to Lebo this weekend.  Although we had to go for a funeral, it was good to see a lot of cousins and other family that we don't see very often.  And, of course, the boys love any time spent with grandparents.  Not exactly Christmas card material (Miles) but still nice to have a picture of my parents with all of us.

5K

I'm so glad that two of my good friends have taken up running this fall.  We ran the KSU Homecoming 5K this morning.  Great weather for Jenny's first race ever and Linsday's first race (since I've known her).  No goals for this race--just running with friends for fun.  I haven't run at all since last weekend; it was good to get back into it.  I felt like I could have sprinted the three miles :)  Great job girls--now onto that half :)

iPhone Anyone?

Once again, Adam was lured into the "Apple Trap."  He hunted down the new iPhone and found one at Target--I didn't even realize they sold phones (not sure how that got past me, given how well I know that store).  They offered to buy his old phone (in Target cards) making his new one only $17!  I jokingly said I needed a new one for $17, and two days later he surprised me with my own.  So either he was being a really good guy or he was just fascinated and really wanted to buy a white one too :)  Don't worry, three of these dudes were sold back--they even bought crackle-screen for $30!

Two down...

I ran my second marathon last weekend--the Waddell and Reed in Kansas City.  Awesome weather.  Some hills.  Improved my time.  All in all a good race, but still feel like I have a better one in me.  Not sure why, but hadn't been "feeling it" for the couple of weeks leading up to the race.  My legs were really stiff and heavy the second half--not something I was expecting since I had run so many long runs and not felt that way.  (Maybe if they offered Diet Pepsi at the aide stations instead of bananas--gross)  It was fun to run through so many areas of Kansas City--I could have made a few detours through some shops along the way :)
Graham went to Lebo and the rest of us enjoyed hanging out with Quint (and Sharla for a while), a little shopping, KSU game, eating out.  I've done nothing this week but walk Newman around Cico.  Not quite the 50 miles I put in during several different weeks of training.  Out of curiosity I added up my training miles... 676!  Surely that justifies another pair of shoes??

Sneaky

Preface:  I'm not a bumper sticker kind of girl....  My husband put this sticker on my car "for my birthday" and it went unnoticed by me for a few days.  It was good for a laugh.  I don't actually mind the look of these stickers (especially with the matching white car :) but not for me.  Maybe if I run a ton of marathons, I'll reconsider.
And speaking of marathons... only one more week!  Time to start scoping out the weather and deciding what color shorts to wear :)

Wildcat Weekend

Absolutely beautiful weather for the KSU game this weekend.    Not sure how many games we will get to this year, but we got to see an exciting one on Saturday.  Thanks for the tickets Snowdens!
Band members serenaded tailgaters in hopes of selling discount cards.  I think he's pretty brave to play solo for an audience.
The kids lined up in a failed attempt to do the Wabash as the band member played.  Notice my kids considered this a food break--always hungry.  Cole... innocent or not? :)
Having fun in the stands--I was cold in the shade, they all thought it was perfect.  Owen intently watched every second of the game.  Miles was good too, except for yelling (as everyone else is booing about a call), "That sucks!"  He got a little talking-to from Adam.
Meanwhile back at the ranch.... Graham had a baby-sitter, play date, hot date with Elle Shamburg.  Maybe someday buddy!
