More Cousin Fun

Michelle and Rhett--this is it! We will see you tomorrow evening. The kids and their bags will be waiting on the curb (just kidding, they've been great). I will, however, try to have them make lots of things for you (to get them out of our house)--like these paintings here, which Owen and Raly made this afternoon.
Raly said they'd never had a slush before. . .
Raly isn't in this one because she wasn't into the photo shoot. These are the "Rangers" shirts we made. I was trying to get "Reese Girl" and "Reese Boy" to stand together, but Miles was being a weirdo.
Curtis just said tonight that sometimes the initial R and final S on Rangers doesn't show up and it looks like an "anger" shirt. Wouldn't you know that Miles jumps in the way of one of my Reese/Reese attempts and that's exactly what shows up.

Sand and Sun

Normally I'm not real excited about the sandbox, but with water area open, play away!
Miles always makes friends with whatever kids are in the sandbox and "borrows" their toys.
Reese building a dam (for Adam :)
Raly playing in "the good sand" (translates into no rubber pieces from nearby swing area).
Sandy butts!
Sandy backs!
LOTS of sandy feet!

Splash Pad

I took the kids for a picnic lunch at City Park today where they enjoyed the new splash pad. I stood on the parking lot side (to prevent escape) and continuously counted the kids...1,2,3,4... paranoid I guess.
Just a shot of the middle area so you can see what it is like, only Owen is in the pic.
Turkey on hamburger buns--you would have thought it was chocolate the way they devoured it!
Owen shooting a water gun.
Waiting for the bucket to fill and dump on them.
Owen tried the rings, but was too "slick with sunscreen" as he put it.

Rest of the Day

Let's see...after lunch and before they all napped (amazing), they had a band...
we hit the pool late afternoon and stayed until 6:30; Raly jumped off the board in a life jacket,
and Reese went under water after jumping off the bottom step :).
After dinner and baths, the little guys answered emergencies....
while the big dudes continued making junk (I mean party supplies)...

Life with 4 Kids--Day 2 AM

The kids are playing so well that I have time to put up pics from this morning...
After cereal, we fixed hair...
then "Good Spiderman" (aka Owen) repeatedly saved Snow White from "Bad Spiderman" (aka Miles) and the "other bad guy with the machine gun" (aka Reese)...
then some miniature bowling....
while the big kids made tons of invitations to a party?? they are planning....
next, a walk to Dara's....
for suckers--WITH GUM!! Well worth the $1.07!!

Life With 4 Kids--Day 1

After attending a family reunion with some of Adam's family this weekend in Hays (post some pics later) we brought two more kids home with us for a few days. So far, so good. Normally I wouldn't detail the whole day, but we're putting these up for Raly and Reese's Mom and Dad in Denver....
After FOUR potty stops (mostly thanks to Miles) and several movies, we made it home...
where the big kids got out the plastic tablecloth, permanent markers (yikes!) and about 100 pairs of old socks and began the puppet making...

while the little guys fell right to sleep...

then enjoyed a little Star Wars and animal crackers (BTW--this is what is left of the huge gatorades that Adam bought them for the car ride and then wondered why they had to pee)...
then played outside (motorcycles, bikes, baseball...)....
until it was time for grocery duty...
followed by the long awaited puppet show. Owen and Raly spent three hours preparing the puppets, the "theater" complete with assigned seats, favors, snacks, and admission tickets. After dinner, baths and books they are all sacked out.

The Next Tiger Woods

Owen has had three golf lessons this week (and has three more next week)--well on his way to becoming the next Tiger. If you can't find him, he's the one on the end with the hat.
Of course, whatever Owen does, Miles does too. His little plastic club only lasted about 5 minutes before he destroyed it.

KC Weekend

Fun weekend in Kansas City (well maybe not completely fun for Adam who was in class all day Saturday and Sunday)--we BBQ'd and hung out at Quint and Susan's to celebrate birthdays and Father's Day. Thanks for having us--it was nice to show up and be fed and entertained :)
The boys each got new KSU b-ball jersey sets. Two more and we'd have a team!
The boys with Grandma Jean and Grandpa Harlan (the jersey givers :).
On Sunday I met Sharla and her boys at Deanna Rose Farms (fun place for kids if you get the chance). The rode tractors, watched a cow being milked and most of all (at least for Owen) petted the goats. Miles did get pecked by a chicken and cried about that.
I think they were hungry, hence the grouchy faces (by mine at least).

Another Birthday Boy

Miles is three today! Here he is in KC this weekend enjoying his "homeade" Spider Man cake.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all the dads that I know. We had a great weekend in KC to celebrate the boys' birthdays and Father's Day.
Just what I've always wanted!
Being that it was Father's Day, I let Adam win just this once :)

Birthday Boy

Not the best picture, but the only one I could quickly find without other people in it. Hard to believe he turns SIX today--what a big boy!!

ECFN WR VXPPHU!

A code for "back to summer." Since I just finished my class today, I figured I should put some of my cryptology knowledge to work. Now it's officially full time summer--time for more of this (below)!!

The Hangover

After hearing multiple people say how funny "The Hangover" was, we decided we should have a date night and see it. Verdict: Hilarious! See it! Eat popcorn for dinner!

New Ride

We (I) bought this motorized gator from a friend of a friend. The sellers live just a few streets down, so the boys got to drive it home. We don't really have room for it in our garage, but I couldn't pass up the great deal. So far, they (and the neighbor boy) are loving it.

Night at the Museum

These are the last pics taken last week (nothing much from this week since I've been in class all day every day). I took the boys to see Night at the Museum 2. They really enjoyed it--first movie theater experience for Miles, he fell asleep for some of it. Owen and Grant cracked up when there was some kissing and kept quoting the "Boom, boom, fire power!" part.
Fire Power!

B-Ball Camp

I'm catching up on last week's happenings--Owen attended the KSU basketball camp held Mon-Thurs, 8:30-12:00. I thought maybe that would be too much for him (would get bored) but he loved it. During the times I watched, I thought it was very well run. He definitely plans to go back next year. Some KSU jerseys and headbands, etc. will make good gifts for the next birthday and Christmas!! The K-3 attendees.
Owen and Grant with Dominique Sutton.
And with Jacob Pullen.
Miles enjoyed "camp" as well. He got to dribble around in the unused area. He keeps asking (this week) when his basketball camp starts.
Owen doing part of a relay drill.
All of the kids got their picture taken with Coach Martin. Then he signed their shirts.
These kids (minus the little brothers) were on Owen's team at camp.
Same boys minus the brothers.
