Birthday Boys #2!

Miles with " Ninja Wheelie Time"
The $0.50 too large flip flops were a hit.

Birthday Boys!

Getting ready to open gifts.
Mmmm, ice cream cake!
Mmmmmmmmmmmmm, I love ice cream cake!

We celebrated the boys' birthdays this weekend with the family.  Adam grilled for everyone, and luckily his steaks turned out--that's his specialty :)  I actually made all of the food; last year Mom, Nancy and Rosie all bailed me out.  I told them not to fix anything (which usually means they will anyway), so maybe I've graduated into the "Mom" category???

The kids got lots of neat stuff and have done a good job sharing all of it--so far!  We'll see how long that lasts.

He's 5! He's Almost 2!

Miles' favorite gift from Uncle Quint and "Almost" Aunt Susan.
Owen had two favorites from Quint and Susan!
Boys with Uncle Quint and their pile of loot from him and Susan.

Well, Owen is officially a FIVE-YEAR-OLD!  He turned five on Friday.  Miles turns two tomorrow.  We are celebrating with the family today.  Quint came up Friday evening to see the boys; it worked out nice for me because I had someone to help me clean, cook, etc.  It was great!  Adam's parents, sister Emily and her dog Jersey are spending the weekend with us.  I'll put up some more birthday pictures tomorrow; it will be another way for me to avoid doing my assignments for the class I'm in now!

Shoe Fetish!

Miles has been infatuated with shoes for at least 8 months now.  It started out as a need to change his own shoes many times a day (into other pairs of his own).  Then he started wearing adult shoes.  Next he started wearing girls' shoes, especially the ones with glitter or some other embellishment.  However, in the last two weeks he's been married to these camo flip flops of Owen's.  He even wants to sleep in them (I give in, Adam doesn't).  Since he loves these things, Adam decided to bust out one of his home remedies and used a carpet knife to cut the backs off--real classy as you can see!  I suppose it was a good idea because he still loves the shoes and they don't fall off AS often.

Lake Weekend

Adam and I spent the weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks with Quint and Susan and cousins Wyatt/Melissa and Scott.  Susan's parents have a great house down there.  We had a fabulous time--lots of time just hanging around the house, but we did manage to hit Party Cove on Saturday.  Needless to say, we met some "interesting" people.  Thanks to Scott and Leanna for being such great hosts!
Looking for the snake.
Found it!
We purposely stopped for gas in this town so I could take a picture of this sign.  Wouldn't it be weird to tell someone you are from "Knob Noster"?

Last Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

I didn't get a chance to put up any pictures at the end of last week.  I thought these were too cute not to include.  I start a class tomorrow morning, so we've been trying to squeeze in lots of fun things over the past week or two.  Here are a few pictures from recent outings.
Owen with Grant at Time Out Corner.
Miles riding a big boy motorcycle.  He can say "motorcycle" now.  It's cute!
Grant and Owen at the pool.
Miles with Reese.  He saw this picture on my camera and said, "Mama--me, Reese."

Happy Father's Day!

The kids got Adam a new shirt and pair of shorts--and a motorcycle card for Father's Day. Actually I got him the clothes; they probably would have picked out Power Rangers or a gun or who knows what.....  They did, however, put on several puppet shows for Adam.  Thank you Grandma Jean for sending home the puppets--we are very excited to store three more stuffed animals!

Any Ideas?

I like these pillows.....
And these too!
I think these sheets would be cute with Owen's bedding.

So I'm trying to move forward with Miles' room redo.  He's getting too big for the baby blue and yellow that he inherited from the previous owners of the house.  I don't want any characters or specific theme.  So far my searching has turned up only 4 pillows that I think are very neat.  Poor guy is going to be stuck with a blue ceiling until he's 10!  If you have any great ideas.......

Cheerleading

Since I spent a good chunk of time today going back and forth between school and home doing cheerleading stuff, I figured it was fitting to include a picture of what I am purchasing/hauling around/distributing.  Cute shoes, right?  My garage looks like a warehouse right now!

First Night of Summer Soccer

Owen said he's on the "Purple Dragons" team.

Miles had fun too!
Today Owen started diving under to pick up rings off the bottom of the pool.  He gets braver everyday.
Mason told me they were playing "Indiana Jones."

Garage Sale Steals

On Friday night we (the kids and I and one of Adam's co-workers, Melissa) went to my parents' house for a quick visit and hit up a garage sale on Saturday morning.  For $21 I got 5 pairs of great shoes (they seem brand new), several necklaces and a few odds and ends.  We visited Aunt Nancy on the way home Saturday.  Owen made plans to go visit her "on his own."  Then we spent the rest of the weekend working on projects around the house and playing with friends

More Pool Time!

I'm a day off with posting pictures--here are some taken at the pool on Friday.  I decided to "exchange" Miles for Chase and Cade for an afternoon at the pool (Miles got dropped off to take a nap and never knew any different).  The boys had fun hiding the rings and "throwing bombs."

Thursday Play Time

Miles with Meg (wearing her rain boots).

Can you guess which feet belong to Miles?

The kids dressed up in costumes.

I was going to put these pictures up last night, but our Internet was a little unpredictable--maybe because of the storm.  No damage at our house, just a lot of rain.  The kids and I went to the Henry's to play for a couple of hours (before the storm).  Miles and Owen had a blast and definitely did their damage to Lindsay's house by getting out every toy they could find. She told me she buys cheapo Halloween costumes when they go on sale to use for dress up--great idea, will have to invest in some this fall!

Cico Park

Owen with Grant and Claire (this is what most of the poses were like) at Cico this morning.

Owen with Grant and Claire (I got one cute one) at Cico Park.

Good news, the camera is fixed!  I should have gotten out the manual and figured it out myself before taking it to the Geek Squad and having him fix it in 30 seconds!  I felt dumb, but I really did think he'd tell me it had water damage and wasn't worth fixing since the last time I used it was at the pool.
Anyway, I bribed the kids into going to the high school with me this morning by taking them to the park afterwards.  They definitely worked up a sweat!
Now that I can use my camera again, I'll take some pictures of my "projects" and share them, along with some cheer pictures for you Jana!

Weekend

We finished the floors in the boys' rooms this weekend.  Unfortunately I don't have any new pictures because the camera is taking only fuzzy pictures now.  Hopefully it's something fixable!  I did get a video of Owen trying to get Miles to do the "Cotton Eye Joe" today.  These moves must have come from Adam......
